Market Survey 74 – 2018

The total number of active Internet connections in Belgium was 4.382.123 connections during the fourth quarter of 2018. An increase of 2.22 % over the last year and 0.74 % since the third quarter of 2018.     

The total number of active internet connections in Belgium was 4.382.123 during the fourth quarter of 2018. This represents an increase of 2.22 % compared to Q4 2017. During the third quarter of 2018, the total number of active internet connections in Belgium was 4.349.988. An increase of 2.45 % over the last year. During the first and second quarter there were respectively 4.306.209 and 4.348.483 internet connections in Belgium.

In the fourth quarter, the number of residential connections grew to a total of 3.950.853 connections in Belgium. This represents an increase of 2.07 % in comparison with the same period in 2017 and of 0.56  % compared to the third quarter of 2018. In the first quarter of 2018, there were 3.889.264 residential connections.

In the business market, the number of internet connections has increased with 15.090 lines to 431.270 lines, which represents an increase of 3.63 % compared with Q4 of 2017 and 2.39 % compared to Q3 2018. The first quarter of 2018 counted 416.945 business connections.

In the fourth quarter of 2018 there is a net growth of 95.340 connections compared to last year. The total number of active internet connections in Belgium reached a total of 4.382.123 and represents an increase of 2.22 % compared to Q4 of 2017.    

Market Survey 75 – Q1/2019

The total number of active Internet connections in Belgium was 4.427.212 connections during the first quarter of 2019. An increase of 2.81 % over the last year and 1.03 % since the fourth quarter of 2018.

The total number of active internet connections in Belgium was 4.427.212 during the first quarter of 2019. This represents an increase of 1.03 % compared to Q4 2018.

The number of residential connections grew to a total of 3.995.762 connections in Belgium. This represents an increase of 2.74 % in comparison with the same period in 2018 and of 1.14 % compared to the fourth quarter of 2018.

In the business market, the number of internet connections has increased with 180 lines to 431.450 lines, which represents an increase of 3.48 % compared with Q4 of 2018 and 0.04 % compared to Q4 2018.

In the first quarter of 2019 there is a net growth of 45.089 connections compared to the fourth quarter of 2018. The total number of active internet connections in Belgium reached a total of 4.427.212 and represents an increase of 1.03 % compared to Q4 of 2018.

Market Survey 72 – Q2/2017

The total number of active internet connections in Belgium was 4.222.360 during the second quarter of 2017. An increase of 3% over the last year.

The number of residential connections grew to a total of 3.808.222 connections in Belgium. This represents an increase of 3.4% in comparison with the same period in 2016.

In the business market, the number of internet connections has increased with 9.760 to 414.138 lines, which represents an increase of 2.4% compared with Q2 of 2016.

In the second quarter of 2017 there is a net growth of 135.060 connections compared to last year.

The total number of active internet connections in Belgium reached a total of 4.222.360 and represents an increase of 3.3 % compared to Q2 of 2016.

Market Survey 71 – Q1/2017

The total number of active Internet connections in Belgium was 4.194.395 connections during the first quarter of 2017. An increase of 3% over the last year.

The number of residential connections grew to a total of 3.783.275 connections in Belgium. This represents an increase of 0.74% over the last quarter.

In the business market, the number of Internet connections has increased with 1.808 to 411.120 lines, which represents an increase of 0.44% compared with the previous quarter.

In the first quarter of 2017 there is an overall net growth of 29.313 connections compared to last year.

The total number of active Internet connections in Belgium reached a total of 4.194.395 and represents an increase of 3% compared to Q1 – 2016
